I had someone ask me "Who was the first person to break your heart?". When I replied my mother, they thought I was joking.
Whenever I hear the song by Cat Stevens “The First Cut is the Deepest” I think of my mother. That cut made it difficult to truly love another person. Then I had children and realized I could give unconditional love to another person. Then I lost them for several years.
Resolved myself at that time AGAIN that I would never love another person.
I will continue to read your bolg and try to learn to love again.

The first cut is the deepest, Baby I know -
The first cut is the deepest
“Cause when it comes to being lucky, she’s cursed
When it comes to loven’ me, she’s worse
Bur when it comes to being loved, she’s first
That’s how I know.

I Love you Adeline.

For most of us that first cut is a mother or father. It is not just what they do but how we perceive this actions through the eyes of a child.

Keep spreading your wings and building your heart muscle - it will come right back at you.
